I’ve made a short video to look back on this amazing year, showing the highlights from art projects, exhibitions, and adventures. It captures the essence of my journey. I wouldn’t be here without your support! Thank you!
Stay tuned—I can’t wait to share it with you! ✨
I began the year by diving into more natural eco-dyeing, using everyday items I found around the house—old nails, paper clips, and natural treasures like leaves and petals. I combined these elements, let the magic happen overnight, and woke up to beautiful, unpredictable patterns.
All year, I’ve used these special papers in my work, along with fibers and thread, to create more abstract pieces. It’s been so much fun to experiment with layers and textures and let my creativity guide me.
Beyond exhibitions, I’ve been teaching monthly workshops to a small group, focusing on the joy of creativity through themes ranging from abstract figures to still life. I have only 4 students maximum at the same time. I also got to share my studio with my talented friend and fellow artist, Anne Pegolotti. Her work brings new life and energy every time I step into the studio.
The exhibitions and adventure this year:
January: My painting Embrace Autumn was accepted into the Being Human show at SFWA in San Francisco, marking an inspiring start to the year.
February: Two of my paintings, Urban Glow and Sidewalk Story, were featured in SFWA’s Street Life exhibition in San Francisco, and I’m thrilled to share that both found new homes!
May: Participating in Open Studios at Ocean Blue Gallery and The Alameda Artworks was a major milestone. For the first time, I sold an oversized painting Integrity —measuring 72 x 62 inches! I have made tote bags also along prints with this painting.
July: I embarked on a transformative 10-day hiking expedition around Mont Blanc within France, Italy and Switzerland. The breathtaking landscapes and wild flowers inspired my new collection, Petite Printanière, where I explored mixed media, incorporating hand-dyed paper and threads for a fresh collection.
September-October: I worked on an exciting commission, Elegance at the Lake for another oversized painting, pushing my creative boundaries even further.
November-December: Open Studios and the Holiday Gift Art event at The Alameda Artworks brought together 30 incredible artists. I also had the honor of collaborating with Flour & Olive cake mix packaging—an extra special moment since their products have won the prestigious Sofi Award!
December: As a passionate knitter, I created a whimsical series of 8 original paintings inspired by knitting, each infused with a touch of humor. This series is currently on display at Uncommon Threads in Los Altos, my local yarn store.
As the year wraps up, I’m thrilled to announce plans for 2025! A new collection is already in the works, and I’m honored to have been accepted into the Viewpoint Gallery in Los Altos, starting in February.
